Child Care Resource & Referral Services

Who We Are

Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) is funded through the State Department of Education, Child Development Division. In California, every county is served by a Child Care Resource & Referral agency to provide child care referrals and information to families, free of charge, regardless of income. Community Action Partnership of Madera County Child Care Resource & Referral administers this program for Madera County.

What We Do

For Parents and Children in Madera County:

• Assist parents in finding child care that best meets their families needs by providing free child care referrals and information on choosing quality child care.
  
• Work with families who need help affording child care to allow them to remain employed, in school or in training leading towards self-support.
  
• Provide information, technical assistance and training for those interested in becoming licensed child care providers.
  
• Work with local community agencies and leaders to understand child care issues and to plan effectively to address child care needs.
  
• Advocate for children's issues.

For Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Providers:

• Provide enrollment, free of charge, on our referral database. This includes licensed family child care providers, licensed child care & development centers, and license-exempt drop-in recreation programs.
  
• Work with child care professionals to improve the quality of child care by offering classes and workshops for their continued education and professional development.
  
• Maintain a resource library of toys, videos, books and educational resources focused on children and families and child care as a profession.
  
• Produce and distribute a bi-monthly Child Care Newsletter with a calendar of events for the child care community.
  
• Provide referrals to Pediatric CPR/First Aid and Preventative Health & Safety classes in Madera and Fresno County.
