The
Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded
energy assistance program administered by the California
Services and Development.
HEAP
provides a once-a-year credit towards an individual's energy
cost and purchased wood or propane determined by a clients income.
Any
individual who falls within the income guidelines is eligible
for this credit. This credit takes anywhere from one to
three months to show up on an energy statement and in no
way can be used to assist clients who are in a crisis situation.
Energy
Crisis Intervention Program Fastrack
The
Energy Crisis Intervention Program Fastrack (ECIP) provides
the same assistance as HEAP. It helps clients in a crisis
situation, including shut-off notices.
How to Apply:
Clients
must be income eligible. Contact the Community Action Partnership to schedule an appointment. Applications are
done by appointment only. You will need verification of household
income for the previous month, a current utility or propane/wood
statement, and social security card.
